Wig Stand Class

Date: February 28, 2026 and March 14,2026

Time: 9:00 am -- 12:00 pm

Cost: $50 (member)

Instructors: Rick Rich, Kathleen Duncan

In this class, students will learn basic spindle skills and faceplate skills. Students will make wig stands, to be donated to Legacy Cancer Institute.

Why wig stands? Frequently, cancer chemotherapy treatment causes patientats lose their hair. Many opt to cover their baldness by wearing wigs. In order to care for them, wigs need to be stored during the period when they are not being worn. The wig stands we will make have been designed to correctly store wigs during these periods.

The stands we make will be donated to cancer patients at the Legacy Cancer Institute in Vancouver. If a student knows a person currently in chemotherapy, they may prefer to donate their stand to that person.
